8 Days China Sampler Tour - Beijing, Xi'an and Shanghai

Day 1 Depart
Fly from the U.S. West Coast to Beijing
Day 2 Beijing
Upon arrival in Beijing, you are met by local guide and transfer to the Capital Hotel (or similar).
Day 3 Beijing (B,L,D)
Tour of Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Summer Palace and Temple of Heaven
Day 4 Beijing (B,L,SD)
Great Wall and Ming Tombs Tour, Roast Duck dinner.
Day 5 Beijing (B,L,D)
The Hutongs Tour, the "old city" neighborhoods of narrow alleyways and courtyard gardens hidden behind Beijing's modern facade. Visit Prince Gong's Palace, Drum Tower, and old-style courtyard houses still inhabited by Beijing residents. Afternoon transfer to the airport, fly to Xi'an. Transfer to the Sheraton hotel (or similar).
Day 6 Xi'an (B,L,SD)
Tour of Archaeological Museum, home to more than 6,000 life-size terra-cotta warriors and horses excavated from the tomb of the first emperor of the Qin Dynasty and the Neolithic Village of Banpo, as well as Huaqing Hot Spring. Tang Dynasty dinner show.
Day 7 Xi'an/Shanghai (AB,L,SD)
Tour of ancient city walls, Big Wild Goose Pagoda and Bell Tower. Afternoon flight to Shanghai. Transfer to the Equatorial Hotel (or similar). Visit The Bund, waterfront promenade along the Huangpu River.
Day 8 Shanghai (B)
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight home. Arrive back in the U.S. the same day.
