Fifteen Days Ancient Silk Road Tour

Shanghai, Xi'an, Dunhuang, Turpan, Kuche, Kashgar, Urumqi, Beijing

Day 1 West Coast/Shanghai Depart the West Coast for Shanghai.

Day 2 Shanghai
Upon arrival in Shanghai, transfer to Ramada Plaza (or similar).

Day 3 Shanghai/Xi'an (AB,L,D)
Morning flight to Xi'an, transfer to the Sheraton Hotel (or similar). Visit the ancient city walls, the Bell Tower and Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Tang Dynasty dinner show. Urumqi(AB,L,SD)
Visit The Bund, waterfront promenade along the Huangpu River, Old Shanghai bazaar. Afternoon flight to Urumqi and transfer to the Holiday Inn Hotel (or similar). Welcome banquet

Day 4 Xi'an (AB,L,D)
Tour of the Archaeological Museum, home to more than 6,000 life-size terra-cotta warriors and horses excavated from the tomb of the first emperor of the Qin Dynasty, as well as the Neolithic Village of Banpo.

Day 5 Xian/Dunhuang (AB,L,D)
Morning tour of the Grand Mosque in Xian. Afternoon flight to Dunhuang. Transfer to International Hotel (or similar).

Day 6 Dunhuang (AB,L,D)
Tour of the Mogao Grottoes including over 45,000 square meters with over 2,000 murals and sculptures. Camel riding into Singing Sand Dunes.

Day 7 Dunhuang/Turpan (AB,L,D)
Morning tour of White Horse Pagoda and Crescent Moon Lake. Overland to Liuyuan passing the Ancient Great Wall and several beacon tower ruins along the way. Overnight sleeper train to Turpan.

Day 8 Turpan (AB,L,D)

Arrive in the morning and transfer to Oasis Hotel (or similar). Tour of Gaochang, the ruins of Jiaohe City and Grape Valley with a 2,000 year old Karez Irrigation Tunnels. Music and dance dinner show

Day 9 Turpan/Kuche (AB,L,D)
Morning tour of Flaming Mountains, Suliman's Minaret and a local village before boarding an overnight sleeper train traveling along the edge of the Taklamakan Desert.

Day 10 Kuche (AB,L,D)

Arriving in Kuche in the morning and transfer to Junzi Guesthouse (or similar). Jeep trek along the Gobi Desert to the Kizil Thousand Buddha Caves. Quci dance and musical dinner show.

Day 11 Kuche/Kashgar (AB,L,D)
Morning train ride to Kashgar arrive at afternoon. Transfer to the Ceman Hotel (or similar). Strolling Night Market after dinner.

Day 12 Kashgar/Urumqi (AB,L,D)
Visit Great Bazaar and Id Kah Emin mosque and the Tomb of the Fragrant Lady, flying back to Urumqi in the evening. Transfer to Holiday Inn.

Day 13 Urumqi (AB,L,D)
Tour of Tianchi Lake in the Tianshan Mountain range. Afternoon tour of the city with thirteen ethnic minorities

Day 14 Urumqi/Beijing (AB,L,D)
Tour of South Mountains including a visit to local herds. Evening flight to Beijing, check into Capital Hotel (or similar).

Day 15 Beijing/West Coast (B)
Transfer to the airport for your flight home. Arrive back in the USA the same day.
